The overall objective of the programme was to facilitate (provide) single sharing platform to industrialists, experts, and academicians related to research activities for pollution prevention in industries.
Description of contents/ agenda
Gujarat Cleaner Production Centre, organized a programme on Integration of Research to Industrial Application. The objective of the programme is to motivate students of engineering Graduate/Postgraduate and PhD students from all Engineering Colleges of Gujarat (having Chemical and Environment Department) to focus on practically implementable research project in the field of Environment/Pollution Prevention/Cleaner Production/Cleaner Technology and to implement at industrial level wherever it is feasible.
Dr. K.U. Mistry, Chairman, Gujarat Pollution Control Board, was invited as a Chief Guest while Shri. K.T. Patel. President, FIA, Shri. Hemant Suthar, ACF, Wild life Expert, Forests and Environment Department, Government of Gujarat as guest of honor. Students and Faculties from various engineering colleges of Gujarat were invited including industrialists from Naroda, Odhav, Vatva industrial estates.
The inaugural session started with welcoming of Chief Guest, Guest of Honor & other Dignitaries on the Dias with plant of “TULSI” by Dr. Bharat Jain, Member Secretary, Gujarat Cleaner Production Centre. Dr. Jain also welcomed all the Students, Faculties & Industrialist. Dr. K.U. Mistry requested students to take cleaner production as a research topic in their dissertation research work. Dr. K. U. Mistry, Chairman, GPCB greeted the audience. He briefed the urgent need of industrial research in the field of Pollution prevention/control and also mentioned that student’s research can help industries to solve the environment pollution problems. The programme continued with technical session, the selected best five abstract students made detailed presentation on their research work with their methodology, findings, results and possibilities of implementation. The top five abstracts winners were facilitated by cash prize. The programme concluded with vote of thanks to all the dignitaries, faculties, industries & students by Dr. Bharat Jain, Member Secretary, GCPC.
