Training and Capacity Building Programme on e-waste Managements

Gujarat Cleaner Production Centre (GCPC) with the support of Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA) under Climate Change Department, Government of Gujarat has been conducting the training programme on E-Waste Management in order to promote scientific and sustainable e-waste management in Gujarat as per the provisions of E-Waste Management Rules, 2016.

 

Under this, first training programme was conducted at an Auditorium Hall, Department of Botany, Gujarat University, Ahmedabad on the occasion of 71st birthday of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 17th September, 2021 and establishment year of Climate Change Department, Government of Gujarat.

Total 98 participants inclusive of students of Electrical Engineering, LDCE, Ahmedabad, Botany Department of Gujarat University and Climate Change Department of Gujarat University, faculties of Botany Department of Gujarat University and Climate Change Department of Gujarat University, officials from Government Institutions like GIDC, GEDA, GCPC, Representative from E-Waste Recycling Association of Ahmedabad and Representative of women wing of Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP), Ghatlodia, Ahmedabad.

 

Experts namely Dr. Bharat Jain, Member Secretary, GCPC, Shri Naresh Thakar, Environment Communicator & Former Public Relationship Officer (PRO), GPCB, Shri Saurabh Gupta, Founder of Aavni Environment and Sustainability Consultancy, Hydrabad andShri Hemant Patel, Managing Director, Maharana Industry Pvt Limited, Ahmedabad, deliberated on E-Waste Management and covered topics such as Introduction on E-Waste Management, Practical Approach for E-Waste Management & Implementation, Best Practices on E-Waste Management and Handling & Scientific Disposal of E-Waste.
